Bradley Davis

As Chancellor, Dr. Bradley Davis oversees the West Valley-Mission Community College District, which encompasses West Valley College in Saratoga and Mission College in Santa Clara. He serves more than 16,000 students, partners with more than 1,400 employees represented by four labor unions, manages the District’s basic-aid financing structure and $225 million annual budget, and oversees more than $1 billion in construction bonds.

Now in his seventh year as Chancellor, Davis brings more than 25 years of senior administrative experience in public higher education.

Under his leadership, the District has waived tuition and enrollment fees for residents, eliminated parking, health services, and childcare costs for students, and launched the first universal free meal program in the nation. He has ensured longstanding compliance with the 50 Percent Law, maintained one of the strongest full-time faculty ratios in the state, and secured clean external audit reports each year.

Davis has also expanded professional development partnerships for classified professionals with San Jose State University and developed a leadership academy for rising administrators. He brought the College of Adaptive Arts, an equitable college experience for adults with disabilities, to the District, a first-of-its-kind model in the country.

During Davis’ tenure, WVM successfully passed two facilities bond campaigns totaling more than $1 billion. He has generated record philanthropic support for the colleges, raising over $10 million in grants and $7 million in private gifts, including $3.9 million, the largest philanthropic gift in District history to build the Kvamme Planetarium. In all, Chancellor Davis has stewarded the construction of 15 new or renovated buildings across the District.

Prior to being selected as Chancellor, Davis served for seven years as President of West Valley College. Before leading West Valley College, he served as Associate Vice Chancellor, setting strategy for the District’s advancement, public communication, and human resources operations.

Davis joined the District in 2009 after a decade in leadership roles at San Jose State University, including serving as Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs and as the university’s Director of Equal Opportunity. He is a regularly invited presenter for public and state agencies.

They are the proud parents of Gavin, a senior political science major at UCSD, and Lauren, a sophomore economics major at UC Berkeley.
