PURCHASING A PARKING PERMIT

 - Student Parking Permits can also be purchased directly in person at the Admissions/
Admissions & Records (A&R) Office at West Valley College or Mission College during normal business hours. 

If you are a Financial Aid student receiving a Board of Governors Waiver, you can purchase your permit online,
but you must enter your student ID number when prompted to receive the discounted price.


​PARKING PERMITS:

- Semester-length student parking permit may be purchased Online or in person at the Admission & Records Office.

To purchase a semester-length permit, either online or in person, you will need to know your vehicle's make, model,
color, and license plate number.

For online purchases, a printable temporary permit (pdf) will also be provided if the permit is currently in use.
Please print out and display the temp parking permit on your vehicle's front dashboard while the actual permit is being
delivered in the mail by the US Postal Service.

PERMIT PLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

A permit is to be attached to the inside lower-left corner of the front windshield (driver's side).
To be properly placed, it must be affixed to the inside of the front windshield, bottom corner, driver's side.
A permit is not valid if any part of the permit or vehicle information is not visible from the outside.
A valid parking permit must be displayed on the vehicle when parked on campus.
Improper, non-display of a permit or failure to display a valid permit may result in a parking citation.

FREE           Winter Session 2018 Permit *

*Any student who is officially enrolled in a winter Session class, and who does not already own a Fall 2017 or 
Spring 2018 semester length permit is eligible to receive a FREE student parking permit valid for use during 
the 2018 Winter Session.  Winter Session students may pick up their free student parking permit at Admissions.


- One Day Visitor or Daily Parking Permit:

• Daily permits are $3.00 per day and valid on the date purchased only.

One day "Daily" parking permits may be purchased at any of the daily permit dispensers located in the parking lots.

Daily permits are $3.00 per day. Daily permits must be displayed on the front dashboard and the expiration date must

be visible from the outside of vehicle.

 All dispensers will accept one dollar bills, dimes, nickels, quarters.

At Mission College all daily permit dispensers will accept credit cards.

At West Valley College daily permit dispensers in parking lots 2, 4, 5, 7, and Tennis Courts will accept credit cards.

Once purchased, daily permits may be used in any student parking stall on campus.


• One Day (Daily) Permit Kiosks (Yellow machines) are available:

- At West Valley College: in all parking Lots.

- At Mission College: in parking Lots B, C, D.

 

Parking Permit requirements:

Student parking permit requirements are enforced Monday through Sunday, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Areas specifically marked for disabled parking, red zones, staff parking, time zones, and other restricted areas are
enforced every day, 7 days a week, 24-hours a day.

Overnight parking is prohibited without prior authorization from the District Police Department.
Vehicles left overnight without authorization from the District Police may be towed at owner's expense.

• Student Semester Parking Permits are valid for use at both West Valley College and Mission College.

- A West Valley-Mission Community College District Parking permit is required on all vehicles parked on the
West Valley College and Mission College campuses during the following hours:
Monday through Sunday  7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

- A valid permit must be visible from the outside of the vehicle when parked on campus.
 Your semester length student parking permit is static cling and must be attached to the inside lower-left corner
(driver's side) of the front windshield.

- Purchase and/or possession of a permit does not authorize parking on campus. It is the responsibility of the
driver to properly park the vehicle and display a valid and authorized permit. Vehicles with car covers are no exception.
Improper, non-display of a permit or failure to display a valid permit may result in a parking citation.

- One day "Daily" permits must be displayed on the driver's side of the front dashboard and the expiration date must
be clearly visible from the outside of the vehicle.

Summer Session 2017 Semester Permit (Valid 5/20/2017 - 8/27/2017)  

- SUMMER 2017 SEMESTER (June 5, 2017 - July 29, 2017):

There is no grace-period during any of the Summer Sessions.
All vehicles parked on campus during the Summer Sessions must have a valid parking permit properly displayed at all times.

During the Summer 2017 Semester (6/5/17 - 7/29/17) all of the following permits will be valid for use:

-One day (Daily) Permit -valid only for the date purchased - $3.00 per day.
 


Fall 2017 Semester Permit (Valid 8/1/2017 - 1/28/2018)  

- FALL 2017 SEMESTER (August 28, 2017 - December 16, 2017)

A student "grace-period" will be observed during the week immediately prior to the start of the spring semester and
during the first week of the spring semester.  

The "grace-period" begins on Monday, August 21, 2017 and ends on Monday, September 4, 2017.


During the grace-period, no parking citation will be issued to any vehicle that is parked in a marked student parking
stall without a permit.

There is no grace period for time zones, red zones, handicap zones, staff parking, special & other restricted parking areas.

A valid parking permit must be displayed on the vehicle parked on campus starting Tuesday, Sept.  5, 2017.
Failure to properly display a valid parking permit may result in a citation and fine.

Levi's Stadium Event Parking


At Mission College, please note that in parking areas that are designated and signed as Levi's Stadium event parking, 

stadium attendees must pay the applicable parking fee to park in these areas.

 

ENFORCEMENT:


Parking permit requirements are enforced Monday - Sunday between 7:00am and 10:00 pm, excluding district holidays.

Parking permit required Monday-Sunday, 7:00 A.M. - 10:00 P.M.

A valid student or staff parking permit or a daily parking permit is required to park on campus. Student parking permit
requirements are enforced Monday through Sunday, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Parking areas specifically marked for disabled parking, red zones, loading zones, time zones and other restricted areas
are enforced every day, 24-hours a day.

Parking citations issued by the District Police Department are issued with the authority of the California Vehicle Code
and the authorization of the West Valley-Mission Community College District Board of Trustees.

District parking citations are legal documents that will be issued and processed in accordance with applicable state
and local laws and regulations. In the event that you receive a parking citation while on campus, please carefully follow
the payment or appeal instructions printed on your citation. Failure to do so may result in the addition of a late penalty
amount and a hold being placed on the registration of your vehicle. Vehicles with five or more outstanding citations
are subject to tow.

 

WARNING:

Purchase and/or possession of a parking permit does not authorize parking on campus. It is the responsibility of
the driver to properly park the vehicle and display a valid permit. Failure to properly display a valid permit will result
in a citation.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

- If you forget your permit you must purchase a daily parking permit from one of the daily permit dispensers located
in the parking lots.

- Stolen permits should be immediately reported to the West Valley-Mission Community College District Police
Department at (408) 855-5435 or in person.

- Lost permit will not be replaced free of charge, however, a replacement permit may be purchased at the original price.
 This includes BOG (Board of Governor) students purchased theirs at the discounted price.

- Permit is valid for use at both West Valley College and Mission College, but only in student parking areas and
only during the dates indicated on the permit.

You can now purchase daily parking passes using your credit/ATM card.

In addition to purchasing a permit online you can purchase a permit in the A&R building. Your student i.d. number, car make, model, year, license plate number, and payment are required at the time of purchase. 

Summer Sessions: June 5 – July 29, 2017

There is no student parking grace period offered during any of the summer sessions. All vehicles parked on campus during the summer sessions must have a valid parking permit properly displayed at all times.

Fall Semester: August 28 – December 16, 2017

A student “grace period” will be observed during the week immediately prior to the start of the fall semester and during the first week of the fall semester: Monday, August 21, 2017 – Monday, September 4, 2017. Please note that the grace period no longer includes the second week of the semester.

During the “grace period” no parking citations will be issued to any vehicle that is parked in a marked student parking stall without a permit; all other parking violations will be enforced. Parking citations will be issued to vehicles failing to display a valid student parking permit beginning Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
