May 13, 2010
West Valley College Interior Design Student Danny Hsu has been appointed to the West Valley-Mission Community College District Board of Trustees as a student representative.
Hsu, who lives in Campbell, says “politics is always something I’ve found interesting. What’s important to the District governing board affects students.” Hus was treasurer on the West Valley College Associated Student body when the trustee position became open and his president asked him to serve.
There are seven elected trustees on eh West Valley-Mission Community College District board and two appointed student positions.
An interior design major, Hsu says, “After each class I take I get more interested. Everyone in the program is so supportive, I’ve made great friends.”
His goal is to obtain certification in residential design, a four-year program that is considered by the industry to be equal to a Bachelor’s degree.
