A.  President: 

We want to get the District's compensation proposalout to the faculty as soon as possible. October 31 is the date we will send outa letter of explanation, the actual text of the article, and scenarios. We willdo this via email and place the information on the ACE web site. After this isdone we will setup two forums to discuss this proposal.

Wewill also organize an informational picket about the threat to our benefits.The Council and faculty will be asked to participate.

December9 is the off-campus end of year meeting. A location will be arranged.

IX.   NEW BUSINESS

CEW (Campus Equity Week): The week of Oct. 31-Nov. 4 is designated to educatecampus communities, the public and policymakers. It will focus attention oncontingent academic employment issues of fairness and quality of education.Donna Frankel will coordinate these efforts at our colleges.

Motion: To support the CEW efforts with up to $100reimbursement for flyers and other printed materials.

Sabbatical Leave Committee: replacement member from Mission College. Afterreview of the candidate statements, discussion, and vote Rod Pavao wasappointed to this position.

Reminder:October 27 is the get-together for the new hires and tenure track faculty ateach campus.
