Work to Contract: there have been many questions on reassigned time for division anddepartment chairs. There is concern as to how this will be calculated. This iscurrently under investigation.

Benefits Consultant: has been invited to our next regular meeting so that we may askquestions about the preliminary report.

Open Session:James Kittock came to the meeting with questions about "work tocontract" and institutional responsibility.

Constitutional Change: it was reviewed and some wording changes weresuggested.

Proposed Change to Constitutional Language: Article VI: Section2: TheCouncil shall notify the Association within fifteen (15) working days of theconclusion of negotiations for the purpose of ratification of contracts reachedwith the college district. Such negotiated agreements shall be ratified orrejected by a majority vote of the Association members using either an officialconfidential paper or email ballot.

Motion: Toaccept the proposed change to the constitution language in Article V1: Section2.

Made by:Rod Pavao              Secondedby: Ed Kleppinger

Passed

We will review this proposed change again at thenext meeting before it is sent to the faculty.

Compensation for summer work:

Thereshould be a process for any Council member who works to be compensated fairlyfor the work performed. It must be work directed by the organization and itmust be documented. It would be nice if the work could be pre-approved but thisdoes not always happen. It should be remembered that Council work continues allyear round and perhaps we have to meet in the summer.

Pleasegive this matter some thought and it will be discussed at the next meeting.

Unloadedhours by arrangement:FYI: a form for these hours was distributed at Mission. It was presented as arequirement but it is in reality a pilot.
